The origin of all of Flight AV’s creative endeavors is a love for music.

Our managing director began his artistic career as a classically trained violinist, moving on to become a renowned Chicago club DJ, before opening his own studio and appearing on the cover of Mix Magazine for his production, mastering and compositional skills. Flight AV’s Andersonville recording studio is built on the same principles that made those endeavors so successful, and our core team is made up of musicians who have spent countless hours both in front of and behind the microphone. Don’t let the big cameras and corporate clientele fool you – there’s nothing we like more than making top-notch recordings of beautiful music.

Studio Recording:
Flight AV’s studio includes a full recording booth, an AVID ProTools workstation, and various digital effects / plugin libraries – alongside world-class instruments, microphones, and analog equipment. Our engineers and producers have worked on hundreds of records – our managing director owned and operated one of the first fully digital recording studios in the world. At Flight AV, we are passionate about making beautiful music with the best tools in the world and minimal stress.

Live Performance Recording:
Flight AV offers experienced on-location recording operators by the half day and full day. We also offer the option of operators packaged with equipment rental – microphones, recording devices, or full laptop/interface setups. From simple stereo microphone recordings to multi-microphone and board-feed release-quality records, we capture the unique energy of live music.

Mixing/Mastering:
Our state-of-the-art recording studio includes DynaudioAcoustic AIR-series monitors and a full compliment of phase linear audio tools, allowing us to mix and master projects ranging from simple stereo to full Dolby Digital Surround. Our expert engineers have mixed and mastered hundreds of records for major and independent labels, as well as audio for release on television and in feature films.

Song Production/Doctoring:
In addition to technical proficiency, our artists possess the creative instincts to ensure your music reaches its full potential. Our audio workstation utilizes state-of-the-art Melodyne software for advanced-algorithm vocal tuning; it can be used to achieve subtle pitch correction and sweetening or to create the full autotune sound currently dominating pop airwaves. Our songwriter services include arrangers and orchestrators – and even radio-tested songwriting doctors. All of our audio engineers are also avid songwriters, glad to collaborate with up-and-coming talent or established veterans.

Music Video Production:

Beautifully lit and photographed artist headshot and creative photography helps to build a relationship with fans.
